What’s new in Kins

2.2.0October 2026

Kins has a new look. We redrew the icon and the logo, and if your phone is in dark mode, Kins now goes dark with it.

We rebuilt Kins Camera from the ground up. There are 23 looks, inspired by old phones, film cameras, and a few cities we love. Looks show up live in the viewfinder, so you can swipe through them before you shoot. Adjust brightness, 1×, 2×, 3× zoom and the grid right there. After you shoot, save, post or share right away, or swipe the photo to try another look. The same looks work on photos from your library when you post.

There's also Kins Camcorder now. Switch to it under the shutter to record up to three minutes, with 13 looks made just for video, from a fisheye lens and a peephole view to a '90s camcorder tape.

You can now share a photo straight to your Instagram Story. Photo strips get four new frames in Kins colors. For your profile photo or an album cover, you can also pick from artwork we made instead of a photo.

Comments and likes from others in a shared album now show up sooner. Deleting your account now asks you to type your handle to confirm, and logging out asks once more before it signs you out.

2.1.1October 2026

Kins has a new icon. It should be a lot easier to spot on your home screen.

If you’re new, we now walk you through Kins with real screens from the app: shared albums, invites, photo strips, and Kins Camera. Then you can make your first album right away. Replay it from Settings › Take the tour.

We also fixed a bug where the profile photo you picked at sign-up sometimes didn’t save. If it doesn’t go through, Kins tries again the next time you open the app.
